Anchors Away

Happy passenger

Safety Drill before Sailing
We took a London cabbie to Waterloo Train station to take a train to Southampton to board our ship. The train was easy and the one and one half hour ride was scenic and went fast.  Our check in was so professional and fast and the crew continues to be awesome.  It seems every request is granted immediately.  We went to the observation deck for our departure which was fun and Phil was a happy passenger.  We had a nice evening moving out to sea and wonderful meal.  There are many restaurants to choose from.  We were too tired to enjoy the evening entertainment and went to bed early.  We have a fabulous suite.  Someway, we were upgraded and our booking agent gave us a generous on board credit. Phil has spent the day exploring the ship and meeting people.  I am signed up for a Galley Tour with the executive chef this afternoon.  Our first day out to sea is cloudy, windy and a bit dark with 55*. It doesn't matter as we are enjoying it all. We are offered all kinds of activities everyday.  Today we got our tickets for the off shore sightseeing and are taking it easy.  Everything has exceeded our expectations and Phil says that we have to do this once a year.  Sounds good to me. This evening all passengers join Capitan Hamish Elliott and his fellow officers in a welcome cocktail party with entertainment.

  1. Hi Sharon and Phil,
We are enjoying your blog and feel like we are traveling right along with you. The pictures are beautiful and descriptions great. We woke up to snow again this morning, so traveling at this time was an excellent idea. Your ship sounds awesome with lots to do. Take care.
    with love, Kathleen and Ed
