The Grand Finale

We stop for a photo of a monument to
the French people of this area that
gave their life in the Resistance.
End of a hard week of fun

As we near the end of a wonderful time in St. Tropez, we think how does it get any better.  As you can see by now, it is all about lunch.  We said our good byes at Sunday lunch at Le Club 55 and enjoyed their great paella.  We were invited on board  the Silver Dream for cocktails by Dick's friends, Sharon and Jack from New Zealand. A fantastic experience for us, truly the grand finale.  Jim Fleig took us to the most delightful place for Monday lunch at Le Plage, where you sit near the water with your feet in the sand. The small beach lies in a sheltered place with panorama view and offers peace and quiet. It is a darling place with delicious food and is frequented by locals.  It was a little adventure walking to and from, a great idea! Walking through the cemetery was fascinating and the view incredible.  The massive amounts of ceramic flowers and wreaths were unbelievably beautiful.  After a lot of walking and great lunch, everyone was very happy to stay home Monday night with a movie and pasta with a wonderful sauce Anne made from the leftover crudites.  Tomorrow all roads lead home.
Walking to and from lunch worked off the calories and was interesting and fun.

We walked back to the village through the Sailor's cemetery.
It is an incredible place, very ornate and built up overlooking the sea.
We don't know why it is called 'Sailor's cemetery' as it is a mixture of
French and Italian and dates back to 1800's.

Richard and Mike take off from Les Graniers beach for their villa.
Like so many people that we meet here, they have
been coming to St. Tropez for years.
